This is a
notification that
Perfecthost web
hosting will be closing. This month
marks 10 years in business, but will also sadly
mark the closing. We are very sorry to make
this announcement.
Why?
In September of 2005, Hurricane Rita hit the
Gulf Coast---the Beaumont, Tx. area to be
precise. It damaged or destroyed the homes of
most of Perfecthost’s support staff, including
the owners, Lamar and Maureen. We spent 3 ½
weeks living out of suitcases in shelters or
motel rooms, with Lamar and Maureen trying to
provide support to thousands of customers.
Then, after returning home, there was no
electricity, phone lines, or internet access for
weeks. Outsourcing was tried, but did not work
out, as we had no way to keep in contact with
customers. We lost a majority of our customers
because we could not provide the support
needed. Perfecthost struggled to return to what
it was before, but was never able to recover.
All recurring
billing will be stopped,
so you will not be billed any longer by
Perfecthost. We have begun to bring to a halt
the recurring billing that was placed through
2Checkout.com, and will then move to PayPal
orders. For those customers that have paid for
extended time (one or 2 years in advance) we
will refund for the months you have not used.
How much time do
you have left?
On April 24th, 2008, all servers for
Perfecthost will be taken down by the
datacenter. Many
web hosts offer help to new customers in moving
websites. Also, Lamar will try to help you move
your sites, if you need the help. After the
servers are shut down, we will not be able to
retrieve any data.
Thank you for
being loyal to Perfecthost, some of you for 10
years.
We
hope we served you well.
Sincerely,
Perfecthost
Lamar and Maureen
